MOV : ആഹാസ് വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അവന്നു ഇരുപതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവൻ പതിനാറു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമിൽ വാണു; എന്നാൽ തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദ് ചെയ്തതുപോലെ യഹോവെക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തില്ല.
KJV : Ahaz [was] twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, like David his father:
YLT : A son of twenty years [is] Ahaz in his reigning, and sixteen years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he hath not done that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, as David his father,

ERVEN : Ahaz was 20 years old when he became king. He ruled 16 years in Jerusalem. He did not live right, as David his ancestor had done. Ahaz did not do what the Lord wanted him to do.

KJV : Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
YLT : and himself hath made perfume in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burneth his sons with fire according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

ERVEN : He burned incense in the Valley of Ben Hinnom and sacrificed his own sons by burning them in the fire. He did the same terrible sins that the peoples living in that land did. The Lord had forced them out when the Israelites entered that land.

KJV : Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought [them] to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.

ERVEN : Ahaz sinned, so the Lord his God let the king of Aram defeat him. The king of Aram and his army defeated Ahaz and made many people of Judah prisoners. The king of Aram took the prisoners to the city of Damascus. The Lord also let King Pekah of Israel defeat Ahaz. Pekah's father's name was Remaliah. Pekah and his army killed 120,000 brave soldiers from Judah in one day. He defeated the men from Judah because they stopped obeying the Lord God their ancestors obeyed.

ERVEN : Zicri was a brave soldier from Ephraim. He killed the king's son Maaseiah. He also killed Azrikam, the officer in charge of the king's palace, and Elkanah who was second in command to the king.

ERVEN : The Israelite army captured 200,000 of their own relatives living in Judah. They took women, children, and many valuable things from Judah and carried them back to Samaria.

MOV : എന്നാൽ ഓദേദ് എന്ന പേരോടെ യഹോവയുടെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ശമർയ്യയിലേക്കു വന്ന സൈന്യത്തെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ യെഹൂദയോടു കോപിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു; നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ ആകാശപര്യന്തം എത്തുന്ന ക്രോധത്തോടെ സംഹരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name [was] Oded: and he went out before the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because the LORD God of your fathers was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage [that] reacheth up unto heaven.
YLT : And there hath been there a prophet of Jehovah (Oded [is] his name), and he goeth out before the host that hath come in to Samaria, and saith to them, `Lo, in the fury of Jehovah God of your fathers against Judah, He hath given them into your hand, and ye slay among them in rage -- unto the heavens it hath come;

ERVEN : But one of the Lord's prophets named Oded was there. He met the Israelite army when they returned to Samaria. He said to them, "The Lord God your ancestors worshiped let you defeat the people of Judah because he was angry with them. But now he is angry with you, because he has seen how cruel you were in killing them.

MOV : ഇപ്പോഴോ നിങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദ്യരെയും യെരൂശലേമ്യരെയും ദാസീദാസന്മാരായി കീഴടക്കുവാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടുള്ള അകൃത്യങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലയോ?
KJV : And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: [but are there] not with you, even with you, sins against the LORD your God?
YLT : and now, sons of Judah and Jerusalem ye are saying to subdue for men-servants and for maid-servants to you; but are there not with you causes of guilt before Jehovah your God?
RV : And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: {cf15i but} are there not even with you trespasses of your own against the LORD your God?
RSV : And now you intend to subjugate the people of Judah and Jerusalem, male and female, as your slaves. Have you not sins of your own against the LORD your God?

KJV : Now hear me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the LORD [is] upon you.
YLT : and now, hear me, and send back the captives whom ye have taken captive of your brethren, for the heat of the anger of Jehovah [is] upon you.`

ERVEN : Then some of the leaders in Ephraim saw the Israelite soldiers coming home from war. They met the Israelite soldiers and warned them. The leaders were Azariah son of Jehohanan, Berekiah son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai.

MOV : നിങ്ങൾ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ടുവരരുതു; നാം തന്നേ യഹോവയോടു അകൃത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കെ നമ്മുടെ പാപങ്ങളോടും അകൃത്യത്തോടും ഇനിയും കൂട്ടുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു; നമുക്കു വലിയൊരു അകൃത്യം ഉണ്ടു; ഉഗ്രകോപം യിസ്രായേലിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for whereas we have offended against the LORD [already,] ye intend to add [more] to our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass is great, and [there is] fierce wrath against Israel.
YLT : and say to them, `Ye do not bring in the captives hither, for, to guilt against Jehovah on us, ye are saying to add unto our sin and unto our guilt? for abundant [is] the guilt we have, and the fierceness of anger on Israel.`
RV : and said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for ye purpose that which will bring upon us a trespass against the LORD, to add unto our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.
RSV : and said to them, "You shall not bring the captives in here, for you propose to bring upon us guilt against the LORD in addition to our present sins and guilt. For our guilt is already great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel."
ASV : and said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for ye purpose that which will bring upon us a trespass against Jehovah, to add unto our sins and to our trespass; for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.
ESV : and said to them, "You shall not bring the captives in here, for you propose to bring upon us guilt against the LORD in addition to our present sins and guilt. For our guilt is already great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel."
ERVEN : They said to the Israelite soldiers, "Don't bring the prisoners from Judah here. If you do that, it will make us sin worse against the Lord. That will make our sin and guilt worse and the Lord will be very angry with Israel!"

MOV : അപ്പോൾ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും സർവ്വസഭയും കാൺകെ ആയുധപാണികൾ ബദ്ധന്മാരെയും കൊള്ളയെയും വിട്ടയച്ചു.

MOV : പേർ ചൊല്ലി വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ട ആളുകൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ബദ്ധന്മാരെ കൂട്ടി അവരിൽ നഗ്നന്മാരായവരെ ഒക്കെയും കൊള്ളയിലെ വസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു; അവരെ ഉടുപ്പിച്ചു ചെരിപ്പും ഇടുവിച്ചശേഷം അവർക്കു തിന്മാനും കുടിപ്പാനും കൊടുത്തു എണ്ണയും തേപ്പിച്ചു ക്ഷീണിച്ചുപോയവരെ ഒക്കെയും കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കയറ്റി, ഈന്തപ്പട്ടണമായ യെരീഹോവിൽ അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നാക്കി ശമർയ്യെക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
KJV : And the men which were expressed by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brethren: then they returned to Samaria.

They clothed them, gave them sandals, provided them with food and drink, and anointed them, and carrying all the feeble among them on donkeys, they brought them to their kinsfolk at Jericho, the city of palm trees. ERVEN : The leaders (Azariah, Berekiah, Jehizkiah, and Amasa) stood up and helped the prisoners. These four men got the clothes that the Israelite army took and gave them to the people who were naked. The leaders also gave them sandals. They gave the prisoners from Judah something to eat and drink. They rubbed oil on them to soften and heal their wounds. Then the leaders from Ephraim put the weak prisoners on donkeys and took them back home to their families in Jericho, the city of palm trees. Then the four leaders went back home to Samaria.
